"Metamorphoses" visualizes the changes a child undergoes as it matures. Child development is correlated with the metamorphoses of insects. The characters in the installation are thus a cross between insects and children at different stages of their growth and development. Worm-like caterpillars come from eggs, they squirm as new-born babies; then they grow and get arms and legs and start running and playing around on the branches like preschool children; after all they spread out their wings and fly away from home like teenagers. In UV light, creatures glow by night like fireflies. Alexander Reichstein, installation idea, sculptures
